Jakabaring Sport City, one of the Green Open Spaces (RTH) of Palembang City, has various types of landscapes that become bird habitats. Birds are an important indicator of environmental quality, so their existence needs to be preserved. This research aims to find the urgency of bird conservation in Jakabaring Sport City based on community’s perception. Interviews were conducted with 30 respondents. The study's results stated that 92% of the community said the presence of birds was very important because the attraction was in the form of singing and feather colour, but 83% of the people did not understand the existence of protected birds. So we need a conservation effort to maintain the presence of birds in urban areas.
